Architect, Urban Sketcher, and a Sleep-deprived Dad

I am a local artist who specializes in urban sketching, and my preferred medium is marker and ink sketch. Through my art, my intention is to express the beauty of this city that I live in.

I studied Architecture in Woodbury University of Southern California, in the United States. After graduation, I worked for several years before I relocated to Hong Kong in 2008. In the early years, I used street photography as an outlet for my artistic expression as I explored this city. In 2015, I discovered urban sketching, and I became more active in participating sketchwalks, joint exhibitions, and group tours. Along the way, I was also able to discover more of this city through conservation awareness, and stories shared by closing businesses and people of this city.

My earlier works focused on architecture, with the intention of raising awareness on conservation. My interest has since shifted to the people and streetscape, focusing on the urban fabric at a more human scale, and reportage of the daily lives of the inhabitant of this city.

In terms of style, I generally prefer wide angle perspective sketches with the focus on the people’s interaction within the space presented.
